Abstract  Vaccination plays an important role in the control and prevention of infectious diseases. In this review, we discuss the vaccines immunization program of China (mandatory vaccines and the alternative ones). Immunization strategy may differ according to the types of vaccines for potential adverse effects. Vaccine immunization-related safety incidents and lessons learned have also been discussed.
