Abstract

The latent viral reservoir in resting CD4^＋T cells is widely recognized as a major barrier to cure human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection. A highthroughput, reliable and sensitive assay that can accurately measure the true size of the viral reservoir is urgently needed. In this review, multiple measurement methods of HIV latent reservoir are summarized.
