Abstract:The present paper aims to investigate the cytokine levels and immune function in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) combined with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection. The children hospitalized during September 2016 to March 2017 in Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital were subjected for this study. The children with MPP and EBV infection, with MPP and the ones undergoing hexadactyly resection surgery were classified as group A,group B and group C, respectively. The serum levels of interleukins (IL-6, IL-4, IL-10) and interferon γ (IFN-γ) were assayed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results showed that the levels of IL-6, IL-4, IFN-γ and IL-10 in group A and group B were higher than those in group C (P<0.05), the levels of IL-6 and IL-10 in group A were higher than those in group B (P<0.05), the levels of IL-6, IL-10 and IL-4 in severe pneumonia group were higher than those in non-severe pneumonia group (P<0.05). The results indicated cellular immunity dysfunction in cases of MPP combined with EBV infection. It is suggested that MPP combined with EBV infection could induce the secretion of IL-6, IL-4, IFN-γ, IL-10 to cause tissue damage, and the detection of IL-6, IL-4, IFN-γ, IL-10 has important significance in the diagnosis and evaluation of MPP combined with EBV infection.
